CBS Records

CBS Records is a unit of CBS Entertainment that signs and develops recording artists, and offers an alternative approach to introducing them to the marketplace through integrating their music into programming on the CBS Television Network. Additionally, the new music venture capitalizes on the powerful marketing reach of CBS Corporation's diverse portfolio of mass media platforms, including The CW, Showtime, CBS Television Distribution, CBS Interactive, and many more, to promote its music and talent directly to consumers.

Music by CBS Records artists is consistently utilized prominently in CBS/CW programming, and the label’s first soundtrack release – NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack – is one of the top-selling television soundtracks in the country. Distribution of the label’s music is secured through agreements with an array of outside partners, including RED Distribution in North America. The new CBS Records is not related to the former CBS Records business or its artists or assets, which were acquired by Sony in 1988.

On Tour Q&A With Keaton Simons

Keaton recently finished a tour opening up for REO Speedwagon and Pat Benetar.

He took some time to answer questions and reflect back on the past few weeks -

1.What was your favorite meal to make on the bus?

My special cereal mixture with fresh berries, bananas and almond milk. I tried to start everyday that way.

2.  What was your most memorable experience?

I remember everything! Some of my favorite moments were on stage (of course), the moments alone in the back lounge to change into my comfy clothes and reflect at the end of each day, and family time!

3.  You had a middle bunk on the bus, would you change your bunk next tour?

I love the middle bunk! Always wondered what it would be like in a top bunk, but I fell out of my bunk bed when I was little (source of the scar by my right eye) and tend to avoid them.

4.  What will you bring with you on the bus that you didn’t bring this time?

The cleanup would be a pain in the ass, but I really do wish we had a juicer on the bus. I have lots of fresh fruits and veggies on my rider and it would be nice to be able to juice some stuff.

5.  What was your summer sound track?

REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar!!! Haha. I didn’t really have much time to listen to anything else.

6.  Did you learn any good life lessons this summer?

Being on the road always teaches me valuable lessons about what I actually need in order to survive and be happy

7.  What was one of your favorite venues on this tour?

Starlight Theater in Kansas City was insanely gorgeous!

8.  You had a mostly female crew.  What advice would you give to your fellow musicians if they went out with a similar crew, or your same crew?

Women are stronger than you, but they’re also more sensitive.

9.  What is the best way to make healty decisions on the road?

The best ways to make healthy decisions anywhere is to remember why you’re doing it. I do it because I love myself and I want to treat my body with love, care and respect. I love the feeling of doing things that are healthy. It’s also important to remember that healthy eating can be extremely delicious if you know what you’re doing.

10.  How wonderful is your tour manager?

She was definitely the best tour manager I had all tour ;)
